The Good Bread - Maxine Nightingale

For our first post, we picked an underrated classic, which is just the opposite of the establishment pictured on the left, an overrated, not terribly good approximation of French breakfast. As a matter of fact, the people who started au bon pain bought out Panera Bread, then spun off the brand that got them started because they realized it sucked, while everybody loves cinnamon crunch bagels with honey walnut. But I disgress. This blog will focus mostly on songs that have either fallen under the radar, or have yet to emerge in our mainstream consciousness. Good taste isn't a guarantee, and your ears might occasionally be offended by our musical offerings. Nonetheless, this blog is all about throwing awesome songs out there, the kind you want to email your peeps about and wish were on more jukeboxes come this weekend (3 days and Sunday's date, get it?). While we'll let the music speak for itself most of the time, don't be surprised by random acts of player-hating and vicious opinion piece.

So without further ado, here's our first selection, Maxine Nightingale's Right Back Where We Started From, a rather brilliant piece of Northern Soul, that represents some of the best of the genre:
